NEWMARKET-ON-FERGUS
Newmarket-On-Fergus is a town located in County Clare, Ireland. It lies approximately eight kilometres (five miles) from Shannon Airport, thirteen kilometres (eight miles) from Ennis, and twenty four kilometres (fifteen miles) from Limerick city
The town is located obviously on the River Fergus, and the N18 Ennis to Limerick main road used to run pass through Newmarket, until the bypass road was built back in 2003.
The new bypass road became part of the motorway network in 2009, and is now the M18 motorway.
Villages and towns near Newmarket-On-Fergus include Shannon, Ennis, Sixmilebridge, Cratloe and Quin.
Newmarket-On-Fergus has many Pubs and shops in the town centre. Because the town is close to Shannon airport and other tourist attractions, it is a very busy town especially in the Summer months. Many of the hotels and guest houses are busy for this reason.
Newmarket-on-Fergus is situated near the R471/R458 roads. The M18 and the N18 major roads are about two kilometres from the town. Shannon airport is only about seven minutes drive from Newmarket-On-Fergus using the M18, N18 and the N19 major roads.
