LAHINCH
Lahinch is a village located on Liscannor Bay, on the North West coast of County Clare, in the Republic of Ireland. The village is situated on the N67 major road.
Lahinch is a well known seaside resort, and has a one mile long sandy beach and has increasingly become a popular destination for surfers.
Lahinch houses the famous Lahinch golf club, and has been a very popular place for professional and amateur golfers.
Lahinch has two eighteen hole courses, the original course is between the road and the sea.
The Castle Course is the latest course, and is named after the ruins of a nearby castle tower that is situated to the North of the course.
The Golf Club also hosts the South of Ireland Championship, which is an amateur golf tournament which began back in eighteen ninety five.
There are many famous winners including Darren Clarke, Graeme McDowell and Paul McGinley.
