KILKEE

Kilkee is a small coastal town located in County Clare on the West coast of Ireland.It lies about halfway between Kilrush and Doonbeg on the N67.

Kilkee is one of the best known resorts in Ireland, and is an especially popular weekend destination for people from the city of Limerick.

Back in two thousand and six, a statue of Richard Harris (who was born in Limerick) was officially unveilled by Russell Crowe.

The Pollock Holes are a well known area for swimming and are situated in the West part of Kilkee.

The pollock Holes are 3 natural rock pools (enclosed), where the tide replaces the pool waters. These pools are very popular with locals and tourists.

Kilkee town is also famous for hosting The last weekend in June sees an influx of triathletes as Kilkee hosts the Hell of the West Triathlon, which is longest running triathlon in Ireland.

The event is one of the toughest and largest triathlons in the Triathlon Ireland schedule, with over six hundred athletes taking part. The event includes a fifteen hundred metre swim, a forty five kilometres cycle and finishing with a ten kilometre road race.
