Clarecastle is a village situated South of Ennis, County Clare, Ireland. It has seen a recent rise in size and population, because of it's locallity to Shannon, Ennis and Limerick city.

On the main Galway Limerick road, Clarecastle is located approximately three Kilometres (five miles) from Ennis, on the main Galway to Limerick road.

It is about twenty minutes to drive to Shannon airport, and around forty five minutes to the towns of Lahinch and Kilkee.

Clare Castle Country Park is a very attractive park to relax, enjoy nature, and learn about Clare's Interesting history.

Within the park lies the remains of the thirteenth century stone castle keep, set upon it's seventy feet high motte overlooking the town.

The former Clare railway station is located within the inner bailey, which operated for over a century, with the goods shed now displaying items from the past, and a railway goods van on a small piece of track.

There is a footpath located near the trees and along the banks of the River Stour. There is a wide variety of trees and plant life to enjoy.

There are information boards that show the various wildlife including birds and water life which can be viewed along the edge of the water.

There is a nature trail that takes you along by the River Stour and the Railway Walk, and
the visitor centre, located adjacent to the car park. The visitor centre has displays and has information on the history of the castle and the railway.
